Used to run a few years back but struggled with shin splints. 2016 was the year I shed approx 15-17kgs, and started running again. Started small 5km runs along the beachfront in Aberdeen and since then all of this has happened:

  • 10km ZSL london zoo Sept 2016 (54m 50s)
  • 10km Banchory Beast Obstacle Race Sept 2016 (1hr 20m) + Raised >£2000 for The Sandpiper Trust Charity with a team of 20 colleagues from work.
  • Fraserburgh Half Marathon Nov 2016 (1hr 59m 51s)
  • Running with Refugees Full Marathon over 1 month (Jan 2017, distance covered in 4 sessions, approx 3hr 50m)
  • Zsl London Zoo 10km (49m10s)
  • Running with Refugees Virtual Marathon (2018)
  • Vertical Rush, tower 42, London March 2018
  • Ran the length of the Bakerloo Tube Line with London Tube Runners (furthest distance ever, 17ish miles!)
  • Berlin Half Marathon April 2018
  • Vertical rush tower climb in aid of shelter. (Raised £375)
  • Hackney Half Marathon May 2018 which I finished sub two hours on what turned out to be a broken fibula...

So I broke my leg and spent 6 frustrating weeks on crutches and about 2 ish months in a boot.

So spent the rest of 2018 swimming in the lido. Now I'm cautious back to running so using my back to running programme as a way to log those running with refugees miles. Aiming to get back to half distance for hackney in the summer. Just to show it who's boss.
