Meet Michael-Robbert Brans a father of 1 girl and husband. He faced cancer in 1995, 1998 and 2001 resulting in full amputation of his right leg. The treatment he received and his long journey with this disease has made him who he is today. It wasn’t easy to find a sport suitable for him. After trying many different things, he eventually found it in Obstacle Running and CrossFit. Michael-Robbert was selected to compete in the first series of the Dutch version of ‘Ninja Warrior’. He also managed to break the record for "fastest male on crutches 5K (one leg)” In the past years he finished many obstacle runs and other running events on crutches and one leg. Rick is a sportsman with a disability, in other words, an adaptive athlete and has a passion for running. Rick lost his lower right leg as a result of a motorcycle accident in 2003.
