Myself and 5 colleagues have decided to run a 43 mile ultra marathon in Jan 2023 to raise awareness and funds for PTSD999.

PTSD999 is a support network set up to provide professional support for members of the emergency services suffering with PTSD, they rely heavily on funds raised through their supporters to be able to provide this support.  

Myself and the guys taking part have a combined service (military/emergency services)  of 101 years, to say we have seen our fair share of tragedy over this time is an understatement!  It's true that we all deal with grief and tragic incidents in our own way however its often the case that members of the emergency services are forgotten about.  Back in the day you would never admit to being stressed,  worn out and suffering mentally as a result of the incidents you dealt with,  it was seen as weak,  you dealt with it in your own way.  I recently sat down and thought about friends and colleagues that have taken their own lives during my service,  21... Yes you have read that correctly.  Almost a year to the day a very close friend and serving police officer took his own life in the most tragic of circumstances,  he was 26 years old.  This simply has to stop and we have to do everything we can to help the guys n girls that help you on a daily basis,  police, fire and ambulance., when it all goes wrong they are the people you call. 

I know times are hard and we are all feeling the pinch,  please support myself and the guys in this event and give what you can.
