Emergency services staff and volunteers are routinely exposed to distressing and traumatic incidents, as well as having demanding workload pressures. As a result, they are more at risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than the general population.  

It is for this reason that myself and my colleagues are completing the Country to Capital (43 mile) Ultra Marathon for PTSD999. 

PTSD999 support anyone serving, retired and volunteering in the emergency services. They also provide advice and help to family, friends and loved ones of those who are struggling across the UK.

Walk into a room with 10 people and 8 are struggling with something.

My struggle will be to complete this ultra marathon without any real long distance or marathon running beforehand! Wish me luck and please sponsor me to help me support this very worthy cause.
