I've long stopped denying the fact that i took up running a few years ago in order to get a break from family duties. Last year however a combination of COVID boredom and bereavement saw this all backfire when i ended up making a silly lockdown decision and entering the NDW 100 - and 3 miles. 28 hours after leaving Farnham, 4 toe nails down and two massive blisters for feet we arrived in Ashford and just before i passed out in the car on the way home I swore I would never (could never?) run again. I should have stayed at home with the kids!
Of course my nails have now grown back and my feet are tougher than ever so onto the next challenge! But a more sensible 43 miles this time! I had a few people ask if they could sponsor for the 100 and so this time around i would like to do it for a charity. I am a big fan of the work the RSPCA do and have been given the opportunity to fundraise for the branch local to this race. Every donation will help get me round the course, forget the pain and get into London for that post run pint even quicker.
Thank you to everyone for donating!
Emma
When they do their posts will show up here.
Northampton, United Kingdom
The RSPCA Northamptonshire Branch rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes dogs, cats, rabbits and small furries within Northamptonshire.
We rely on a small and dedicated team of staff, as well as our amazing volunteers, to help hundreds of animals each year.
We hear lots of our supporters mention that they already donate to the RSPCA - unfortunately, we do not receive a penny of this donation. We are affiliated with the National RSPCA, but responsible for raising all of our own funds locally. These donations are given to the National RSPCA and the inspectors.
If you would like to #supportlocal and give directly to the animals in Northamptonshire then check your standing order to ensure that it is coming to us!!
Here at the RSPCA Northamptonshire Branch we’re all passionate about animals. Whether they’re big or small, young or old - we want to help as many as we can!
