The history and landscape of West Wycombe are interlaced with the interests and exploits of the Dashwood family who have occupied West Wycombe House for over 300 years. West Wycombe Park, Caves, Mausoleum and St Lawrence's Church were all constructed in the mid-18th century by Sir Francis Dashwood, 2nd Baronet, and founder of the Dilettanti Society and co-founder of the notorious Hellfire Club.
A beautiful trail run with Play In The Wild UK, that passes by some of Wycombe's best views, including West Wycombe, Bradenham and Hughenden, as we take on the rolling Chiltern Hills.
This is a looped route, of approximately 10 miles, with a number of climbs on the route, but rewarded with expansive views across the valleys.
PACE
We'll be aiming for 10.30-11.30 min/mile pace, so please be comfortable with that on trails. We will run as a group leaving no one behind, but experience of hills would be beneficial. You are welcome to try and push yourselves to the top of the hills or find that low gear and keep it steady, but we will wait for all at the top of the hills and carry on together.
Allow 2-2.5 hours for the run itself, as conditions may vary.
KIT
Please make sure you have the right kit for this run; trail running shoes, some layers and waterproofs if the weather requires it. Please bring some water; snacks (always) recommended.
