Tour of Silchester
About the event
A brand new addition to the Hampshire Tour Series sportives for 2023, we are delighted to introduce our newest event, the Tour of Silchester. Based in Yateley, Hampshire, the new routes are centred around its namesake, the historic site of Silchester, an ancient Roman settlement and ampitheatre, the remains of which still exist today.
The 30 and 50 mile routes takes riders West, skirting the Berkshire border as it winds through a network of rolling, peaceful country roads out to Silchester before heading for home. Keep an eye out on this page, our Facebook page or sign up to our newsletter to keep up with event details.

The Hampshire Tour Series was set up back in 2014 by members of Odiham Cycling Club & 1st Gear Cycles bike shop in Alton. Previously known to locals as the Tour of the Candovers, Hampshire Tour Series started with its flagship fundraiser sportive in Odiham & since then has grown year after year, eventually expanding in 2018 to include the Tour of the Worthys & Tour of the Meons events, based from Alresford.
Set up by cyclists for cyclists, the routes take on some of the finest & least known roads of the Mid-Hampshire area. A friendly service & local feel has been at the heart of what we do since the start, riders can expect to find a race HQ, with refreshments available, clearly marked & marshalled routes, motorbike rider support across all 3 events, and finally who could forget our now famous mid-route cake stops courtesy of our partners Simple Cakes?
