Meet at Blackpool Sands car park at 7:00 am for registration and issuing of the GPS trackers in their mandatory tow buoys which we supply on loan.
The 6km sea swim starts at 8:30am and is tide assisted.
Expect swim times varying from sub 2-hours to 3 hours plus depending on experience and fitness.
Swimmers not acclimatised to cold water or not capable of swimming faster than 3min/100m should not enter this year.
The Votwo Events RIB will be in the water from 7am and throughout the swim, marshalling the line of swimmers and support boats, and connecting volunteers via VHF marine 2-way radios.
Each swimmer (unless thoroughly acclimatised to cold swimming) must wear a neoprene swimming wetsuit including optional gloves, swim cap and boots if needed.
Bright high-quality silicone commemorative event swim caps will be provided by SeaLion Triathlons and are mandatory to be worn in the swim over any other headwear.
Volunteer car shuttles will assist swimmers finishing at Torcross to be driven swiftly back to Blackpool Sands swim HQ.
When you exit make your way to the tank memorial and a car will pick you up in minutes.
Full details including risk assessments, emergency action plans, and method statements can be found on our swim control project document in the Google cloud - see link below - which we encourage participants and volunteers to read prior to the pre-event briefing on Sunday June 6th.
