We're very please to be hosting the Police National Cross Country Championships at the superb Normanby Hall Country Park.
Ahead of the day be sure to visit the event webpage here this will require you to log in.
We will send you an invite to join the private webpage once you have entered the event (please wait up to 48 hours for an invite) Of course this is completely pains, but it's a great way of staying up to date ahead of the big day.
The event is an 8k for the females and a 10k for the males.
An evening celebration has been arranged, and you can book onto this when joining the event (please note this is only available to book at the time of booking the event as we've hidden it from public view so it can't be found via our shop page)
We recommend trail shoes, it is not suitable for spikes, and it's likely to be boggy in march!
A quick course description:
- The event starts and finishes in front of the main hall with great access to facilities and of course a cafe!
- You head out from the main hall (this is a short initial section on the internal hard gravelled/tarmac road)
- The course then heads out onto our cross country course, this is a mixture of grass, trail paths, some sand and probably mud (weather dependant)
- While the course would be described as flat (no hills) we do have some short, sharp climbs and drops.
- It is a challenging course and pacing is key, the good news is the main cross country course section is a two lap course allowing you to learn the profile.
- Some short water crossings are involved (knee height) the bottom of the water crossing are flat, and depending on the weather depends on if it's a welcome cooling off or not!!
- For those not running we have key spectators areas prepared out on the main course (around a 1km for the best spots near the water crossing)
