It’s not often you’re invited into the grounds of the family home of a duke, but the Duke of Bedford is looking forward to hosting Outlaw Half Woburn at his beautiful home in June.
Your race will take place next to manicured gardens and through thousands of acres of deer park, although we’ll keep you clear of the safari park!
Woburn Abbey will provide a dramatic backdrop to your finishing line photos, after you’ve navigated the swim, bike and run courses. For anyone who has competed at the venue in the past, these are completely new routes that have undergone our impeccable Outlaw scrutiny to ensure an unforgettable experience.
The swim takes place across two adjacent lakes with an ‘Aussie exit’ taking you from one to the next before you exit the water ready to ride your bike out of the Estate and around Bedfordshire’s quiet roads.
The bike route features a very long downhill stretch mid-way through the course help boost your average speed. Overall, it’s a rolling course with 2345ft of climbing; the climbs will give as much as they demand and its certainly TT bike friendly.
The three-lap run will take place on the roads and paths within the Estate. There are out-and-back sections where you’ll regularly see other competitors, and laps around the lakes, where you’ll see the crowds of people cheering you along to the finish in front of Woburn Abbey.
