About the event

Join Running Adventures for a brilliant weekend of trail running and and laughter in the Brecon Beacons in Wales. We will be staying in the heart of 'waterfall country' with stunning forests, waterways and mountains to explore. All our runs will start and finish at our bunkhouse, so we have the perfect setting for a great weekend of trail running and socialising.

This weekend will include some technique coaching and is perfect for those that are looking to experience running on mountains and technical trails.

After checking into our bunkhouse, we will start with a coaching session on some local trails. A chance to master the skills required to run trails efficiently and with confidence, perfectly setting us up for the weekend ahead. In the evening we will enjoy a home made meal at the bunkhouse.

Saturday will see us climbing a local mountain. This will be your opportunity to practice what you learnt the day before and to also have a go at some scrambling (optional) as we enjoy running to a nearby peak. The views will be spectacular (weather permitting) and we will run at a social pace, enjoying the different types of terrain we encounter on our way.

Later that day we will light the campfire, have a well earned beer, have some delicious home made food, and share stories from the trails.

On Sunday we will be hitting every waterfall in the area on a beautiful 7.5 mile run. This area is famous for its waterfalls and caves, you will be led through some stunning forest trails with plenty of photo opportunities along the way, and maybe even a wild swim for those that are feeling brave?

All runs are guided by me, a Salomon sponsored ultra runner and coach. We will run at a social pace and walk the hills and mountain slopes if we have to. This is not a race! We will stay as a group so if you are a faster runner, please expect to run slower than you would normally.

Previous trail running experience is not necessary, but is preferable. The terrain will vary hugely, with some very technical, rocky, trails. We will hike some sections and run some sections. Don't worry, we will be on hand to coach you and show you the techniques needed to run on such terrain. You will need a good level of fitness to enjoy this weekend. If you are unsure, please contact me to discuss.
