Experience the stunning Yorkshire Dales on this epic challenge! Join us for an unforgettable weekend as we take on the legendary Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, starting from Horton in Ribblesdale, a charming village nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
We will be staying in the lovely '3 Peaks Bunkroom' in Horton on Ribblesdale, which has plenty of parking, kitchen and rooms of no more than 6 people. The accommodation sits right on the route, making it the perfect place to start and finish our adventure on this iconic trail.
On Saturday, we will be hiking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a 24 mile (38.6km) round trip route, featuring a total ascent of 1585m (5200ft). This incredible hike will lead us to the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m), and Ingleborough (723m).
Our approach to this challenge will involve a steady walking pace, our challenge will be to complete the loop within 12 hours.
On Sunday, for those with a bit of extra energy, we will take a short morning walk in the local area, before saying our goodbyes.
This event is being delivered for Strengthworks by Matt Buck of Running Adventures, who is a qualified mountain leader and experienced ultra distance runner and hiker.
IMPORTANT: This weekend includes rugged terrain, lots of elevation and takes place in an unforgiving environment, we want everyone to be safe. Therefore, to join this challenge, we recommend that you have completed at least a 20 mile hike within 2 months of the event, you don't need to be a hiking expert, but you must have a very good level of fitness and be able to walk for prolonged periods at a minimum of 2.5 miles per hour.
