SHORT course 6.6 miles

The first Salcombe Swim Run is part of the SouthWest Outdoors Festival and is the third and final event in the South West Swim Run Series. 

The route is mostly off road, following footpaths, country lanes and the SouthWest Coast Path, including  breathtaking views of the South Devon Coastline.

It begins with a 600m swim from South Sands beach to North Sands, where the first run section starts, following the public footpath north past Hangar Hill and west towards Combe , New Farm and South Down Farm.  All participants will transition here for the SHORT course next to the car park at North Sands beach, even if you choose to swim in your shoes and swimrun/tri suit., as no tow floats will be permitted for the SHORT course. LONG course swim runners will also dib in here but can choose whether to transition in to shoes/running vest etc as tow floats will be mandatory. LONG course entrants must carry all their gear with them in their tow float. 

From here you will hit the coast path and LONG course entrants will head north through Bolberry until reaching Inner Hope Cove where the second swim stage starts and ends at Outer Hope, watched by friends and supporters at the nearby Cove Cafe. Runners will then head back south along the stunning and undulating coast path via North Bolberry and Bolberry, heading towards the finish at East Soar Farm. This event is for solos and pairs. Prizes will be awarded for each category and points will be awarded to series winners.

Participants can walk to the start at South Sands beach (approximately 1km from the festival site) from East Soar Farm or make  your own way there. Parking will be provided.
