The Rocky Horror Swim Run is part of the Something Wild Festival weekend in South Devon, with the events taking place at the beautiful South Milton Sands.
It includes a LONG 16.5mile swim run with 4 swim legs and 5 run legs and a SHORT 7 mile swim run with 3 swim legs and 4 run legs
All participants will collect their race packs on Friday evening or Saturday morning at the festival site at the farmer's field in Hope Cove.
Races will start just before high tide at 7.30am with Rock Hard Coast Sea Swim getting underway at 8.00am and the other events all getting underway at 7.30am.
Registration and the prize ceremony, take place at the festival site. Sea swimmers register at South Milton Sands from 7.30am to 7.50am
What is the route?
All swim runs follow the South West Coastpath.
Here swim runners swim to Inner Hope, via a marker buoy or one of our safety kayakers (a 400m swim). Swim runners then run to South Milton Sands.
Long Swim Runners continue on to Salcombe’s North Sands after swim leg 3 at Hope Cove (same route) before running back along the coast path for their final swim section from Outer Hope to Inner Hope. Both short and Long swim runs end at the festival site in Hope Coves. Short swim runners continue up to Bolberry Down and follow signs through Bolberry, finishing in the festival field through the back entrance.
NB: The route is based on the Salcombe Swim Run 2018 and Rocky Horror Swim Run 2019 and our Rocky Horror swim run 2021.
NB We have adjusted the route for being refused entry at South Sands on the grounds of congestion. This is a bonus for spectators who can now see their friends and family much more easily.
Distance Breakdown:
Rocky Horror LONG 16.5miles (swim 1.7 miles/run 15.0 miles)
Rocky Horror SHORT 7 miles (swim 1.4 miles/run 5.6 miles)
