The Peak District 100 (incorporating the Peak District 50 and 33) is a new trail ultra-marathon which will take runners on a truly spectacular tour of the UK's original National Park.
With 50 miles in the 'Dark Peak' and 50 miles in the 'White Peak', this will be a real showcase for the stunning views, diverse landscapes and rich history the Peaks has to offer. With plenty of elevation gain, the course offers a significant challenge for participants at all levels, while also having plenty of runnable terrain.
Brought to you by the guys at Peak Running and Beyond Marathon, who have a mountain of ultra running and race organising experience between them, this will definitely be one for your book-it list.
The schedule for the race weekend is as follows:
19:00 Friday 30th August : 100-Mile race starts
09:00 Saturday 31st August: 50-Mile and 33-Mile races start
07:00 Sunday 1st September: Finish line closes for all distances.
Training Events
Whether you’re an experienced ultra-runner looking for a new challenge, or someone dreaming of going beyond a marathon for the first time, the race offers a fantastic opportunity to achieve your ambitions in a most spectacular setting.
So, as well as the race itself, we’re putting on a series of events to help you prepare. There will be series of organised training & recce runs taking in sections of the course, and a full day workshop covering all aspects of trail and ultra running, including training, up/down-hill technique, navigation, kit and nutrition. All of these will be led by our qualified coaching coaching staff with 20+ years experience of running ultras around the world.
The schedule is as follows:
27th April: Training/Recce Run #1 – Castleton to Baslow (16-miles)
1st June: Salomon Trail Running Festival Peak District (based in Edale)
2nd June: Training/Recce Run #2 – Baslow to Castleton (17-miles)
22nd-23rd June: Training/Recce Run #3 – Castleton to Langsett (overnight run) (27-miles)
6th July: Training/Recce Run #4 – Langsett to Castleton (23-miles)
27th July: Training/Recce Run #5 – Baslow to Miller’s Dale (25-miles)
