Marathon Training Long Run
Marathon Training Long Run

The longest run that you will need to do for your marathon is 20 miles, it can be lonely running on your own, so why not join Running Adventures and do it as part of a group?

Perfectly timed to coincide with your Spring marathon training (i.e. London Marathon or Brighton Marathon), this event is a chance to enjoy a fully guided training run through beautiful surroundings.

This 20 mile route will follow trails, the perfect break from pounding those roads. The route is relatively flat although there will be the odd hill, but the climbs are worth it as you are rewarded with amazing views of the Surrey hills. Adding some trail running into your training is perfect for marathon preparation, it offers less impact and trains different sets of muscles.

This is not a race, this is a social training run so if you are a faster runner, you may need to run at a slightly slower pace than normal so you can stay with the group. No one will get left behind and we will support each other the whole way.

You will be guided by myself, a Salomon sponsored athlete and running coach, you don't need to worry about where you are going or the route we will take, it's all taken care of, all you need to do is concentrate on running, socialising and having fun. We will also find time to answer all of you marathon related questions during the run.

We will finish where we started in Guildford, where we have the option of grabbing a drink in a local pub.

Pace: This is not a race! We will run as a group and share this experience together. You should be able to run approximately 11 min/miles and have a good level of fitness.

Kit: A full kit list will be provided.

Getting there: Parking is available and the meeting location is close to Guildford train station. Full details will be provided.
