Jerry Green Dog Rescue #activepaws Challenge
Jerry Green Dog Rescue #activepaws Challenge

In 2018, Jerry Greens successfully re-homed 792 dogs across their five centres, and the average stay in rescue was 30 days. To mark this, we are asking supporters to complete 792 minutes of activity in the 30 days of June! (thats 26 minutes a day)

Get your school, colleagues, friends and, of course, dogs involved to make this event a huge success!

Jerry Greens dogs and staff will all be joining in this great opportunity to raise awareness and funds for their amazing dogs!

You can choose to complete the challenge however you’d like; Walk, Jog, Run, Swim, Zumba, Dance, Play Rounders, Cycle ... whatever you want!

Jerry Green Dog Rescue exists to provide a safe place for homeless dogs and to seek new loving places for them to live. We pioneer and provide the highest standards of welfare for the dogs in our care.

For more than 58 years, since Jerry Green founded the charity back in 1961, we have been transforming the lives of abandoned and unwanted dogs by providing shelter and finding them loving homes. Our inaugural centre in North Lincolnshire, where Jerry himself lived, has recently accepted the 20,000th dog in need into their care!

The caring, 'dog-centric' ethos at Jerry Green Dog Rescue means we continue to put dogs at the heart of everything we do. There are too few homes for too many dogs, so we're always looking at ways to ensure our dogs have the best quality of life while they are staying with us and we try to find their perfect match. Every year, the financial cost of caring for our dogs increases and in 2018, the average cost of caring for our dogs from rescue to rehoming was £1,966 per dog, a price well worth paying to see those happy wagging tails as they go home with their forever families, but as our adoption fee is just £180, we are heavily reliant on the support of the wonderful public to bridge that gap and be able to continue the vital work we do, long into the future.

So let's get moving!

The actual challenge amount will show as the total number of minutes for the month which is 792 minutes!

You’ll be able to log your progress online just remember to join the training page from our entry system (it will record from many devices automatically), share your best and worst days, connect with your fellow team mates, all while supporting Jerry Green Dog Rescue!

You can enter the challenge for FREE and simply support Jerry Green Dog Resuce by raising sponsorship (100% of all sponsorship goes to the charity and you can download a sponsorship form here or you can register for a Just Giving page here).

You can also add a specially designed medal to your entry for £10, a challenge t-shirt for £20 or both for £25, with 30% of the revenue going straight to the charity, take a look at the designs here.

After the challenge is over, we send out your certificate, medal or t-shirt.

You don't need to send us proof of completion, we trust you :)
