THE GREAT FJORD SWIM | 17th SEPTEMBER 2022

Swim in the crystal-clear waters of Killary Fjord, Co Galway with Connaught’s majestic mountains soaring all around. Our team of expert kayakers and safety boats will be with you all the way. Open water swimming events in Ireland don't get much better than this.

This sea swimming event has a choice of 3 distances for all levels of experience in open sea swimming - 3.9km (full Ironman distance), 2km and a shorter 750m distance. Wetsuit & non-wetsuit swimmers are welcome in all distances.

A looped route from the Killary shore and back again.

156 lengths of a 25m pool.

Full Ironman distance.

Wetsuit and non-wetsuit swimmers welcome.

Tow-floats must be worn by all competitors.

CUT-OFF TIMES:

1.9km: Must reach this point in 45 minutes.

3.9km: Must reach finish line within 1hour 45 minutes.

All distances are approximate. The final swim route with relevant buoy colors will be posted here and emailed to all registered competitors 2 weeks before the swim, along with the alternative bad weather route.
