The Downton Half- 27th November 2022

A new event for the Challenging Events calendar - Downton Half Marathon! 

The course starts and finishes in the charming village of Downton and follows quiet country lanes on the edge of the New Forest. It is is an out-and-back road race and there are some hilly sections on the course but all worth while to enjoy the stunning views across the Stour Valley. You will likely encounter some wildlife along the route and will be rewarded with a medal on the finish line!

There are always questions that you might have, the common ones are answered below.

Can I wear headphones??

In ear or over ear headphones are not permitted under UKA rules and if a runner is seen wearing this type of head phones they will be disqualified :-( However, headphones that don't block your ears, such as Aftershokz, are permitted

Can I run with my dog?

Sorry no dogs allowed at this event, the only exception are guide dogs.

What is the minimum age to enter the event?

The minimum age is 17 years (age on the day of competition)

Is there a bag drop?

Yes there is a bag drop at the start. There is a £1 charge which 100% of the proceeds go to a local charity running the bag drop.

Will the roads be closed?

This is an open road race. The road for the start will be closed to be able to get runners out of Downton safely and onto the quiet country lanes but please note that these roads will be open to traffic for the rest of the race.

Where do we park?

There will be parking available at Event HQ at The Trafalgar School in Downton. It's a short walk to the start.
