In April 2020, my partner was given the news that no parent or family should ever have to hear and experience, with the news that her son, Harrison, had been diagnosed with leukaemia. Harrison's Journey back to full health has already begun. He's receiving chemotherapy after spending many weeks at the Piam Brown Children's ward at Southampton Hospital earlier in 2020.
Whilst Harrison's Journey back to full health will no doubt be a long one, there is a feeling that significant hurdles have already been crossed, and we're all looking ahead to a positive road that leads back home.
Smile For a Mile is aimed at raising as much money for CLIC Sargent as we can to help fund the amazing support and work they do for families with children suffering from childhood cancers.
Run, jog, walk a minumum of 6km (because 6 is how old Harrison will be on his next birthday!) and receive your very own "Smile for a Mile" medal! Make sure you smile as much as you can when doing this, as it's a proven fact that smiling whilst running or doing any physical exercise, can actually improve your performance!
We would love to see your smiles so please post your pictures to Social Media - Instagram and Facebook with the #smileforamile2021
Closing dates for entries will be 28th February 2021. Medals will be sent out within 30 days of the Smile for a Mile end date (14/03/21)
