About the events

Starting and finishing in Haslemere, this run features some of the best parts of the Serpent Trail and the Sussex Border Path.

You will be guided by myself, an experienced ultra runner, running coach and Salomon athlete. This run is perfect as your first taste of ultra running, the route is taken care of and you will get the chance to learn from an experienced ultra runner, and get any running questions you may have answered.

We will begin our run in Haslemere and head towards Blackdown, pausing for a moment to enjoy the wonderful Temple of the Winds lookout, offering views of the South Downs and beyond. From here we will begin to follow the Serpent Trail before heading south across lush fields and through ancient woodland. We will then pick up the Serpent Trail once again and head west across rare heathland, through stunning woodland and valleys. After a quick refreshment break, we will continue our journey back towards Haslemere, once again across incredible heathland and along a huge variety of trails.

Pace: This is not a race! We will run as a group and share this experience together. I advise that you have run at least 22 miles in training before trying this event. You should be able to comfortably run an average pace of 10 min/miles | 6 min/km for prolonged periods of time on the trail, and have a suitable level of fitness. Ultra running first timers encouraged!

Kit: A full kit list will be provided, I have Salomon Sense Ride 2 and Speedcross 5 trail shoes available to test, please state your size during registration if interested.

Getting there: Haslemere has excellent transport links by both car and train, there are plenty of car parks close to our meet point and the train station is also nearby, Haslemere is on the main line between London and Portsmouth.

Info: We will be in touch with further detailed information and instructions a few days before the run, if you haven't heard from us, please get in contact.

FREE BEER: Running Adventures have partnered with the wonderful Days Brewing Company, one of the most delicious alcohol free beers around. You can expect to receive a lush beer (subject to availability) at the end of the run to either enjoy with your new found running pals, or take home to have another time.

COVID-19: View our guidelines and precautions here. If the run is cancelled by Running Adventures due to COVID-19, you will be offered the choice of a refund or transfer to a later event.

"Matt is a very experienced ultra runner so we bombarded him with questions! I learnt an awful lot during the day and came away from it very enthusiastic and excited for my ultra plans ahead."
