Salmon Run 2024 Team Relay

The Salmon Run Relay: Teams* of between 4 and 8 run one of 6 sections upriver from Exmouth to Tarr Steps on Exmooor carrying a hand-crafted salmon baton (Samantha) which they pass on from team to team. Section vary in distance from 4 to 10 miles.

Make up a team, choose a section and book to secure it.

The relay is non-competitve and on each section all runners should run together as much as possible, even if there are 2 teams, and run at the pace of the slowest runner. We do our best to arrange for runners to be roughly the same level as any others in their section.

*Ready made teams are encouraged with a discount. Individuals can sign up and we will make up a team with other individuals but can't guarantee your preferred section.

The team relay empathises with the iconic Alantic river Salmon, now on the red endangered list, and its epic journey upstream to the spawning grounds. While the run is not competitive, it is more a collaborative effort to transport the salmon baton upriver and the distances and terrain of the sections can be challenging.
