About the event

Over the summer of 2021, from the Syria-Turkey border all the way to the UK, The Walk by Good Chance theatre company (The Jungle) in collaboration with Handspring Puppet Company (War Horse), will bring together communities, artists and cultural institutions in an enormous public artwork.

At the heart of The Walk is 'Little Amal', a 3.5 metre-tall puppet of a young refugee girl. Representing all displaced children, many seperated from their families, Little Amal will travel 8000km embodying the urgent message 'Don't forget about us'.

Amal will reach the UK on 24th September 2021. We are challenging the Running with Refugees community to show their solidarity by joining the attempt to cover Amal's 8000km over the month. Sign up now and, between 24th September and 24th October, cover and log as many miles as you can. Every mile counts!

As a thank you, everyone who signs up to the challenge and contributes a mile, will be given access to the exclusive Moving Stories audiobook to accompany your miles.

You can choose to support the challenge for free, or add a £5, £10 or £20+ donation. All funds raised will be donated to refugee charities to support their life-saving work with refugee children and displaced people around the world.
