The Peak District National Park has 13.25 million visitors per year, making it one of the most popular national parks in the UK.
The event starts and ends in the famous Spa-town of Buxton, famous for it's Spring Water. The start is just a short distance from the famous St Ann's Well. It's good luck to fill your water bottle there before the start!
In 2016, Beyond Marathon Ltd registers the domain Peak District 100 and associated events
In 2019 The original first edition was hosted from Castleton.
In 2021 The Peak District 100® and Peak District 50® receive their trademark approval
In 2022, Beyond Marathon Ltd partnered with Cockbain Events Ltd and the event moved to Buxton for ecological reasons and with a large venue that permitted growth of the events. A Marathon Distance was added. RaidLight sponsor.
In 2023 The main sponsor became Chia Charge
In 2025. 30 miles of the Southern (White Peak loop) were redesigned in increase the amount of elevation and take the event across the iconic Roaches and to feature the Peak District's "Matterhorn"
