On 6 June 2020 we should have been launching our brand new steeplechase event - Orbiter. Set to take place in the grounds of the Rushmore Estate, this multi-distance event aims to bridge the gap between trail running and OCR, with the 10k run scattered with waist obstacles designed to be tackled on the move. With Orbiter now set to take place in June 2021, we wanted to mark it’s original birthday with a brand new virtual challenge!
It’s quite simple, you’ve got until next Sunday 14 June to do ‘10k in a Day’ - that’s it! You don’t have to run every day (unless you want to!), we just want you to find one day in the next week where you can get out and cover 10k with a run/walk. In honour of Orbiter (and just for fun) we also want you to jump and hurdle as many varied and interesting things as you can! If possible, record your distance (Strava/Garmin etc) and upload your evidence along with photos and videos of your hurdle jumps to the Facebook event page.
All entrants will receive a retro Rocket Race Cotton T-shirt from last year, featuring the Rocket shield on the front, Finisher and #Rocketeer on reverse and a nod to Apollo and Discovery on the sleeves - plus the warm fuzzy feeling you get from taking part in a Rocket event. Places are limited for this challenge, and entry is just £7 per person. This is to cover the cost of packing and posting your tshirt.
