About the event

We're excited to bring riders an in-person event this year. While we continue to plan for a safe and enjoyable event, we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will comply with any new public health guidelines. Please check back here or in your Participant Centre for updates or any changes.

The Northern Tour for Health is open to all ages and all fitness levels. Registered participants pick their cycling distance - 20km, 40km, 60km, or 100km - and we provide the necessary tools to help the riders achieve their fundraising goals.

This year, we are also offering a virtual accompaniment for people who (a) aren’t able to attend the in-person event on September 24th, or (b) aren't able to ride for a long distance or time in one day. For riders who participate in the virtual delivery, all of the same rules apply (incentives, fundraising, etc), but you will be able to clock your kilometers at your own pace and schedule during the week leading up to - and on - the live event day. Virtual participants are encouraged to post their routes on social media, tag Northern Cancer Foundation (@ncfsudbury), NEO Kids Foundation (@neokidsfoundation), or Health Sciences North Foundation (@hsnfoundation) on Facebook and/or Instagram so the foundation you are supporting can see your rides, share them, and encourage and support others in their riding goals.

The Northern Tour for Health features two courses, both starting and ending at Moonlight Beach. For the 20km, 40km, and 60km distances, the course is an approximately 20km ride around Ramsey Lake that will be completed once, twice, or three times, depending on the ride length you have chosen. The 100km course is for experienced riders, with a mix of highways and local roads that have riders traveling through Garson, Val Caron, Chelmsford, Lively, Long Lake, and Coniston.
