Llyn Alwen 11.5K & Canicross- 18th September 2022

Llyn Alwen Trail running events will take place from The Alwen Car Park Visitor’s Centre (GRID REF) Situated close to Llyn Brenig it provides the perfect venue for trail running.

Canicross welcome, please note your race time will start 9.05am.

Please note that all Canicross runners must run with their dogs in a suitable Canicross harness, attached with a bungee line to a waistbelt on the runner.

The Running Schedule:

08:00 – Car park & registration opens

08:15 – Briefing and warm up

09:00 – Start of The Llyn Alwen 11.5K (approx) Race, Canicross starts 5 minutes after.

11:00 – Prize presentation at registration tent

The Course:

The course consists of one loop, you will run around the lake clockwise. The course lay out makes it spectator friendly, as your supporters will get to see the runners at start and finish or at any point around the lake.

The route is a mixture of gravel, trail path and fire roads which wind their way through the pine trees and Forest, together with some open grassy sections which provide a stunning view over Denbigh Moors. Generally the loop is well drained but if we have a British Summer rain there is a chance of mud.

There will be a water station at the half way point on this course.

Parking:

Llyn Alwen car park parking is free of charge. We advise that you arrive early to make your experience of getting through the registration process stress free, there will be additional parking on side of track going towards Llyn Alwen.

Please follow the signs and marshal instructions to use the dedicated race parking.

Note: the Brenig has nothing to do with the Llyn Alwen, there is no postcode for the Llyn Alwen, but please use the Brenig postcode and follow sigs for the Alwen.
