A new virtual event for 2021, Hanner Cymunedol is a collaboration between Marathon Eryri, Ras Wyddfa and Trail Marathon Wales. It is a fundraiser to help the local community organisations that our events have supported over the years. During the pandemic, many such groups have struggled financially and, with your support, we can, hopefully, offer some of them a lifeline.
Runners will be able to take part between July 23rd and August 8th and can cover the Half Marathon distance over a number of days if they want to. It’s inclusive, open to all and we are hoping that it will give you an incentive to get out there and keep training ready for the return of actual races.
The cost is £15 which includes training plans, a bespoke number, a memento and a leaderboard. All profits will be split between community groups that our races would normally support.

The inaugural Marathon Eryri was held in 1982, and was conceived as a dramatic alternative to the numerous city and town races becoming so popular. The demanding and spectacular route, encircling Yr Wyddfa, the highest peak across England and Wales, has given the event a unique place in the annual marathon calendar ever since.
