STAGE 1: 13.5KM | RUN | MOSTLY TRAIL & SOME ROAD

The race starts In the Lough Inagh valley near Lough Inagh Lodge on the western way. It follow the western way until reaching the surrounds of Killary, then continuing down through the grounds of the Killary Lodge to the kayak transition.

STAGE 2: 1KM | KAYAK | KILLARY FJORD

1km kayak from the southern shore of Killary Fjord on a shared two-person sit-on-top kayak.

STAGE 3: 1KM | RUN | TRAIL & ROAD

Short 1km run to the bike transition area located at Killary Adventure Centre.

STAGE 4: 35KM | CYCLE | SEALED ROADS

Cycle south following the Wild Atlantic Way route towards Tullycross, with spectacular views over the islands and Atlantic Ocean. Rejoin the N59 at Letterfrack, passing Kylemore Abbey and the 12 Ben Mountains, back to the bike transition area at Killary Adventure Centre.

STAGE 5: 3KM | RUN/WALK | TRAIL

Run across the Connemara bog to meet the Western Way walking trail and a downhill run towards Leenane.

STAGE 6: 7KM | RUN/WALK | MOUNTAIN

The final push to conquer the mountain! There is no trail, just open mountain and an ascent of 450m to the top. The expanse of the Killary Fjord and Mweelrea mountain spreads out in front of you as you descend to cross the finish line of Gaelforce West.
