About the event

Our team have worked together on previous Wild Running and Way of The Runner Dartmoor camps. It includes author of Rise of the Ultra Runners Adharanand Finn, Wild Running founder Ceri Rees, and Joe Kelly, aka Barefoot Athlete who will reunite to bring you the ‘ultra’ version. This long weekend will benefit any aspiring ultra runners or someone preparing to tackle an ultra marathon by sharing the talks, tips and company of this trio of ultra running and movement aficionados, who all bring their own individual skill sets.

It is all based on the beautiful South Devon trails around the Dart River and Dartmoor National Park. We’ll do back-to-back long days on the trails from Dartmoor to the south coast, all at a comfortable pace, before returning to the comfort of our basecamp on the edge of the Dart Valley near Totnes. Here we can recover with hearty, healthy meals by our chef Charlotte, massage treatments and even hot tubs. As well as talks from Adharanand and Ceri, Joe will be on hand to offer gentle movement workshops using techniques such as Anatomy in Motion and muscle activation.

There will be lots of chances to regroup on the runs along the way.

What does it include?

• Three nights accommodation (Fri, Sat and Sun)

• All meals, including pack-lunches on the runs and evening meals home-cooked by our wonderful chef Charlotte Etridge (who is also our massage therapist)

• Two back-to-back long trail runs

• Talks on ultra running by Adharanand and Ceri on the good, the bad and the #CENSOR# (including DNFs)

• Movement, breathing and downhill trail running technique sessions with Joe

What does it not include?

• Transport to and from the camp

• Optional sports massage

• A pub supper on Sunday night

Difficulty:

With back-to-back long runs on hilly trails, as a minimum we recommend you can run at least a half-marathon and have some experience running on trails. Pace is not an issue, as long as you can manage the distance, we’re happy to go as fast or slow as you like – and we can cater for a wide range of speeds.
