About the events
Bringing you the best pair of open water swims in the South West - the Dartmoor Open Water Swim (16 June 2019) and Exmoor Open Water Swim (29 September 2019), both in association with The Pickwell Foundation. Building on the success of our previous events, our goal is to give everyone the opportunity to swim in these two beautiful lakes on the edge of Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Whether you are a regular open water swimmer, or want to venture outside of the swimming pool - this is your chance to swim #BEYONDTHELANES
With distances ranging from 2km to 8km, there is something for everyone. You can enter them individually, but if you take on both events you will get a FREE "Twin Moors Swim" t-shirt and will be entered in to a prize draw to win a one-week swimming holiday to Greece - with Strel Swimming Adventures.
Dartmoor Open Water Swim in association with The Pickwell Foundation - Sunday 16 June 2019
Based on a single 4km loop, the course takes swimmers to the dam and then to the top of the lake and back. The 4km route will push those looking for a longer challenge at the start of the open water season, and a perfect distance for those training for long course triathlons. Alternatively you can half it to complete the 2km course, or double it(!) to take on the 8km challenge – a truly special achievement in this stunning location. Exmoor Open Water Swim in association with The Pickwell Foundation - Sunday 29 September 2019
Also based on a 4km loop, this event takes the swimmers all the way down to the end and back, on a stunning single loop tour of the whole lake. The half loop, 2km, is for swimmers who either have confined their swims to pools or have yet to conquer the longer distance. Following the success of the 2018 event, we also have an "elite" only 6km course which combines both loops - this is aimed at those who want a clear swim around the course at a faster pace.
