Known as a Stunnning and Savage triathlon and hailed as one of the UK’s most scenic and challenging triathlons, the Olympic distance course usually involves a 1.5km ocean swim at Putsborough Sands, followed by a 37km road bike course and a 12km off-road run over hilly coastal terrain. The ‘Still Stunning and Less Savage’ Sprint Triathlon features a 750m swim, 18.5km bike ride and 5.5km run. Both courses take in the breathtaking sights of the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere, North Devon National Landscape and the North Devon World Surfing Reserve.
In 2025 The Croyde Ocean Triathlon was awarded the Best Large Event in the South West by Triathlon England. 100% of profit goes to charity and we lead ther way with our sustainabilty plan. We even make our own medal ribbons from old tents!

This Olympic distance Triathlon is number 2 in Red Bull's 11 best triathlons in the UK, was one of 220 Triathlons “Top 23 must-do” UK triathlons for 2019, and ranked 5th toughest Olympic distance triathlon in the world by 220 Triathlon with a course not for the faint-hearted!
