CHALLENGER GAMES 2019
THE CONCEPT
Challenger Games is a brand new competition from Blast Off Events, the team behind Rocket Race. Designed to bridge the gap between functional fitness training and obstacle course racing, Challenger Games will push competitors to new limits in order to test all round physical fitness and determine who will be crowned 2019 Challenger Champion in both male and female categories, with a prize pot of up to £2000 available.
CHALLENGER GAMES QUALIFIERS
The Challenger Games is set over two stages; qualifiers and the Games Weekend. Registration for the qualifiers is free. All who register will be sent two separate fitness workouts to complete, record and submit to the Blast Off Events Team. Once the second round of qualifying workouts ends, the team will analyse the data and the top 260 competitors who completed the workouts correctly and in the fastest times will be sent an invitation to register and compete in the Challenger Games 2019.
CHALLENGER GAMES WEEKEND
Taking place from Saturday 20-Sunday 21 July 2019, the Challenger Games will see competitors take part in a series of fitness challenges throughout the day on Saturday, building up to a final Obstacle Course Race on the Sunday, when the Challenger Champions will be decided.
SCORING
Each competitor will be scored individually in the fitness challenges, based on time and reps. Results from the fitness challenges will rank athletes for the Obstacle Course Race on day two, creating a level playing field.
In order to create a fair test of fitness, Challenger Games will see competitors take part in a series of challenges unknown to them, until right before the event begins. The Challenger Games will test competitors abilities across a wide variety of different events, so prepare for everything, expect anything.
