About the event

Come and be an English Champion as 2022 will host the English Triathlon Standard Distance Championships where triathletes from across the country will race to become champions in their age group!

Bournemouth International Triathlon is located on the west side of Bournemouth Pier. Both sprint and standard distance swims start on the award-winning blue flag beach just under the zig zag of West Cliff Gardens before heading out of Bournemouth on a fast bike course towards the market town of Ringwood on the edge of The New Forest. You then finish by running along the promenade to finish back on the sand!

Different options available:

Sprint Distance Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run

Standard Distance Triathlon: 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run

Aquathlon Sprint: 750m swim, 5km run

Aqua bike Standard: 1500m swim, 40km bike

Long Swim: 2.5km or 5km options (see specific event page)

Bournemouth was one of the first Triathlons to hit the South Coast. It has been raced by thousands including Olympians and Triathletes that went onto to become pros!

FAQ

There are always questions that you might have, the common ones are answered below.

What will registration look like?

You will register online. About 7 days before event day we will send you an email. You will then need to complete the Competitor Responsibility Statement and Covid Health Screening Questionnaire online. This avoids the queue at number pick up. You must do this otherwise you will not be able to get your race number. If you have missed any email you can find it by going to your my.challenging.events account.

When is the race briefing?

To avoid crowds we will do the race briefing via a webinar on Wednesday evening before the event. The link will be on your my.challenging.events account in the event briefing doc. Dont worry if you cant make the briefing, it will be recorded for you to watch when you can. You must watch the briefing. Any emergency updates will be communicated on race day, either via email or as you head into transition.

When will I get my race pack?

Race packs will be made 72 hours before pick up. They will contain your wristband and swim hat. You can collect these on either Saturday between 3pm and 5pm or at your allocated arrival time. There will be extra registration desks to allow the queue to move quickly. You must know your race number before arrival.

Can we have spectators?

Yes! Bring the fan club! We will also be streaming the event live on our facebook channel (challening.events) so send the link to your loved ones to watch you live!

I dont have any information about my start time etc?

Make sure you log onto my.challenging.events and read the event briefing document in full. It will contain all the info about how to find your number, where to collect your pack, etc.
