. General information

You choose. 20 miles or Half Marathon (13.1 miles).

As well as giving you the opportunity to go for a PB on a fast flat 20 mile course, this event may be useful to many who are planning on competing in a spring marathon (like our own Shepperdine Marathon on 24th April) - it will give you a good indication of how well your training is going and what time you are likely to achieve on the big day.

This will be our 7th year and we are keeping the entry limit to 650 as we did last year.

The 20 mile option is a two-lap flat course in lovely countryside close to the river Severn. See map below.

The Half Marathon takes in one lap of pretty much the same course.

There is a cut-off time for the 20 mile route of 4 hours. Anyone not making the start of the 2nd lap after 2 hours will be asked to head back to race HQ.

Access to the event HQ is on quiet roads and is only 6 miles from junction 14 of the M5. There is ample (hard standing) parking and the start of both courses are no more than 400m from the event HQ, where we will have ample toilet facilities. There will be no baggage drop this year - come ready to run from your car. .

On the 20 mile route there will be 6 water stations giving bottled water - three different locations on the route that you pass twice and then a further one at the end. On the Half Marathon route there will be 3 water stations and one at the end. None of the water points offer nutrition so you'll need to equip yourself with any gels etc. you may want on the course.

The 20 mile race has mile markers at every mile (yellow signs) and so does the Half Marathon (red signs).

Both courses will have been officially measured.

Half Marathon route description

The start is near the roundabout right next to race HQ. We run into the car park to do a short loop then onto Berkeley village and then past the Salutation pub in Ham. Then follows one loop of a circuit around Bevington Deer Park on very flat and quiet country lanes. There are 3 drinks stations. After the loop you head back but at Ham cut back to the power station without going through Berkeley. The finish is just outside race HQ. Water, t-shirt, cakes, medals and hot drinks will be available outside.

20 Mile route description.

The start is around 200m from the race HQ. We queue on the road and then head off towards Ham without going through Berkeley itself.
