Gloucester City Marathon
Gloucester City Marathon

The Gloucester City Marathon starts and finishes at Gloucester Quays the route heads through the town Centre on Southgate Street and Westgate street. Runners continue around The Famous Gloucester Cathedral and back into town before heading North past Kingsholm, the home of Gloucester Rugby. The route then travels along Escourt Road and then North towards Cheltenham, passing through Churchdown at the 5 mile mark. The run continues north passing Staverton Airport and The Jet Age Museum and through the quiet flat lanes of Staverton and out towards Tewkesbury. Runners pass through Wainlode and along the beautiful River Severn before heading back towards Gloucester. The run emerges out of Sandhurst Lane into the busy streets and back through the Gloucester Quays a recently regenerated area of shops and restaurants.
