About this event
The Garden Route is an area rich in natural beauty, graced with a rugged coastline, indigenous forests, lakes, lagoons and meandering rivers encompassing a beautiful part of coastline from Still Bay in the west to Plettenburg Bay in the East. Our route uses the dramatic passes built in the 19th century by the brilliant engineer Thomas Bain. We will be moving from the interior to the coast, via the small towns and villages of the region, finishing at the most Southern tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas. This is a challenge of contrasts – starting in the semi-desert landscape of the Great and Little Karoo and high mountain passes before descending through forests of the Garden Route to the coast.
